His work has been widely exhibited throughout Asia, Europe and North and Latin America. In addition to his creative practice, Mapplethorpe has built a successful reputation through his commissioned photographs of one-year-old children. The artist was promoted in House and Garden Magazine as one of the top commissioned photographers of child portraits. Mapplethorpe’s editorial work has been included in AMICA, Blackbook, Interview, Mirabella, New York Magazine, and Paper Magazine.
